Grandparent's Luau

Today Ellee and I went to a Luau in honor of Grandparent's at The Harbor Place where my Mom works. It was a lot of fun! They had a really good Hawaiian band with Hawaiian dancers! And yummy Hawaiian food!! Very cool!

where she sleeps.

Last night Ellee slept about 6 hours...In her car seat!! I have been putting her in her car seat at night to sleep and setting it by our bed. She sleeps so well in it. She had been sleeping in our bed with us. I love her dearly but, it gets kind of cramped and I don't get very good sleep.

so..... Out of our bed... and one step closer to her crib!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Lee!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Today would have been my Dad's 61st birthday. This is one of the 3 days each year that I think about my Dad the most and wish even more that he was still here. It makes it even harder now that we have Ellee and that she will never get to meet her Grandpa. I can't wait until she is a little older so I can tell her stories about him! She may never meet him but, she will know how great he was! We love and miss you Dad!

365 days of Ellee: Week 5

It's been kind of a long week. We think Ellee is going through a growth spurt....She has been wanting to eat like crazy and she has been a little grumpy..especially in the evenings. Friday night was interesting. We tried everything to get her to go to sleep and nothing seemed to work. She just kept crying and we had no idea why. After about 2 hours of trying to calm her down we put her in her car seat and went for a car ride...about 2 hours later (which included a trip into Tacoma for coffee at the only 24hr coffee shop) she finally fell asleep! All that crying must have tired her out because she slept for about 4 and a half hours straight... in her carseat. :) There was no way I was risking waking her up by taking her out!

She stays awake more during the day which is nice because I think that will help her sleep longer at night. I'm trying to get her into a bedtime routine. I wake her up around 8pm if she is sleeping..then give her a a bath at about 9pm. Then I feed her...the last couple of nights I have gotten her to fall asleep around 11pm....we will see if we can continue that. Shes been sleeping about 4 hours at a time during the night.

We went to a barn dance yesterday afternoon at Silverbow Farm out where we live. We had a lot of fun hanging out with friends. Everyone loved Miss Ellee....

This morning I was burping Ellee and she kept picking her head up off my shoulder and holding it up by herself for long periods of time. I was totally amazed! She is getting closer and closer to being able to hold her head up by herself all the time!

Also, she slept for 4 hours straight!! I couldn't believe it when I looked at the clock and it said 5am! Yay for sleep!! :) I think it is helping that she is sleeping less during the day. Although she likes to wake up about 11pm and not want to go back to sleep until midnight or later. I never thought 4 hours of sleep in a row would feel so good! :)

This week I have noticed that Ellee is becoming more aware of her surroundings! She is staying awake longer during the day. She is definitely keeping us busy! :)

Ellee got to meet her Great Aunties Marylin & Sharon yesterday! We had a lot of fun chatting and catching up! I wish we could see them more often!!

Miss Ellee 3 weeks old and is growing like a weed!! We have been very busy this last week! Auntie Emily has been in town so we have been running around having a lot of fun!
