tree hunting.

I just wanted to share a few of my favorite photos from our tree hunt.  We had a blast!  It was cold, but we managed not to freeze! :)

Standing in front of our tree.  We actually won't get to enjoy it on Christmas, but I'm glad we went and got one anyways!  We had so much fun picking it out!  We get to spend Christmas this year with Jason, Emily and all our East Coast family.  We are so excited!

I also wanted to add that Santa made a visit to the YMCA the other day.  The kids could sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas.  If you had a camera they would let you take a picture.  Ellee wouldn't even get close to him!  I think it was the scary red suite and the white beard.  She isn't a fan of men with beards.  I tried a couple different times, but she wasn't having anything to do with Santa or his sleigh!  Oh well, I guess we will try again next year.  However, I am interested to see how she will react to Santa at my works holiday party.  They always have Santa make a special appearance.  He even hands out gifts.  Maybe a present will help change her mind.  We will see.  I'm not counting on it though! :)

12 weeks!

Today marks 12 weeks!  Wow, is this pregnancy flying by!  1 more week and I will officially be out of the first trimester! : )

I'm feeling pretty good, just really tired all the time!  Morning sickness has been worse then when I was pregnant with Ellee.  It is more all day and comes in waves.  It isn't anything to unbearable though.  And I think it is starting to go away.  The last few days I have only felt nauseous late at night or if I wait to long to eat.

I'm so excited to find out what we are having!  Shayne is convinced we are having a boy!  Hopefully we will find out sometime in January! : )

a true miracle!

Over the Thanksgiving weekend our church hosted an event called Road Trip.  There were over 50 projects we could volunteer for.  My Mom, Sarah and I chose to help host a baby shower for a young Mom in need.  It turned out to be such a blessing for me! 
Baby Alaura was born August 6th, only weighing 1 pound 13 ounces.  Her Mom gave birth to her at only 24 and a half weeks along.  Now at almost 4 months old she weighs almost 7 pounds.  She is a little fighter and is getting stronger and stronger with each passing day! Meeting this Mom and her precious baby really showed me God's amazing ability to create miracles! I had a truly blessed Thanksgiving weekend! : )

#2's first picture.

We had our first appointment. for baby Gray #2 on November 23rd. We got to hear the little heartbeat, which was around 160bpm. The midwife said everything looks great and I'm right on track with where I thought I was. At the end of the appointment we got to see the little bean! So amazing! You can see where she took a measurement of the baby (the 2 X's with a dotted line)  The baby measured out at 3.3 cm, which is right on track with 10 weeks. Our next appointment is scheduled for December 28th and I will be 16 weeks. : )

Yesterday she was running around at my work and tripped right into a wall. Her nose and lip took the brunt of the fall.  She gave herself a little fat lip and a good split.  Her nose is also a little swollen and has a little bruising.  This may have been her first major spill, but I'm sure it won't be her last!  I guess it could have been worse!

Lets just say Ellee went immediately into the bathtub!  I think that was her master plan, because anytime she feeds herself she ends up in the tub! Her FAVORITE place! : )

Recently Auntie Emily flew into town for a visit!  Ellee had so much fun with her.  Ellee hadn't seen her since June, with the exception of a few Skype dates. : )  During Emily's last visit Ellee was at the stage where she didn't like "strangers", especially when Mommy, Daddy, Grandmom or Auntie Sarah was around.  Auntie Em isn't a stranger, but with only a few visits a year Ellee doesn't remember her to much. : (  I wish we lived closer!!!!  But, this time around it was a bit different.  Ellee is now at the stage where she warms up much quicker, I think those Skype dates helped!  They spent a lot of time together and I think Ellee really enjoyed it!  We can't wait to go visit both Auntie Emily and Uncle Jason for Christmas!

I have to add....

When Emily was last here in June Ellee wasn't walking and only saying a few words.  When she saw her this time the first thing Emily said was, "oh my, she looks like a little person".  I had to laugh, because I see Ellee walking, dancing and talking everyday, so it is normal for me.  Auntie Em doesn't.  It made me realize that Ellee really is developing into her own little person with her own personality!  And, I think it is a pretty darn cute one!!! : )

baby news!

The secret is out!  Ellee is going to be a big sister!!  We are so excited to become a family of 4!  We are expecting baby Gray #2 to arrive mid June.  That puts me at 11 weeks and 4 days making my unofficial due date June 14, 2011.  A little weird because if baby #2 is born on that day Ellee and the new baby will be exactly 23 months apart.  It's not likely though. : )

With that secret out in the open, I have an announcement.  This will be the last post on littlebabygray.blogspot.com.  I have decided since we have another little one on the way I think we should have more of a family blog. So, I will be posting all future posts at http://www.agraydayblog.blogspot.com/.  This blog will be both about Ellee and baby Gray #2.  It will also occasionally be about their Mom and Dad too. : )  We are so excited about where God is leading our family!  We are truly blessed!!!

Side note: I am currently trying to figure out the whole layout thing of the new blog.  Blogger has changed things around on me and I'm not sure I like it. : )  So, A Gray Day Blog is still under construction and it isn't looking so cute.  Don't judge. LOL! : )

16 month well exam.

Yesterday, I took Miss El in for her 16 month well exam.  She did awesome!  Her pediatrician was so impressed on how well she handled his poking and prodding!  She is such a good girl and he was so good with her.  She is perfectly "normal" in every aspect.  Here are her stats:

Weight: 23 pounds - (45.21 percentile for her age)
Height: 30.5 inches - (39.74 percentile for her age)
Head Circumference: 47 cm (18.5 inches) - (75.31 percentile for her age)

Since she finally has some teeth they were able to give her a fluoride treatment.  She didn't mind it at all.  She loves to brush her teeth....I'm hoping it stays like that! : )
We ended the appointment with 4 shots.  3 of the standard vaccines and then a flu shot.  Poor girl did so awesome!  She barely cried and as soon as the nurse brought out the sticker basket all her tears were gone!  Amazing what a sparkly sticker will do!! : ) 
Her pediatrician said she doesn't have to go back until she's 2.  We do have to go back next month so she can get a 2nd flu shot.  I guess they have to do it to build up her immunities.  Not looking forward to that visit!

I'm so thankful we have a healthy 16 month old!!

This morning we made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.  Ellee chowed down on them while saying, "yum, yum, yum".  Of course when I grabbed the video camera she stopped eating, but I still got some pretty cute footage of her. : )

After trick or treating we went to our church for Trunk or Treating.  Ellee had a blast. They had a bunch of cars all decked out with Halloween scariness. And they gave out a TON of candy!  They also had a DJ and Ellee had so much fun dancing with her Auntie to the music.  I caught her on video shortly before we left.  So funny and cute!!! : )

Side note: At the end of the video Ellee's hat fell off.  I thought it was so funny because she was acting all concerned that it had fallen off her head, when earlier all she wanted to do is take it off.  Silly girl!

Oh, and all that dancing must have really tired her out because she was fast asleep minutes after pulling out of the church parking lot.  She went to bed in her giraffe costume.  I was told, you should never wake a sleeping baby! : )



trick or treat!

Halloween was so much fun this year!  My Mom, Greg, Sarah and I took Ellee trick or treating.  She didn't know exactly what she was doing, but she had fun!  It was so fun to see all the different costumes!  The first 2 pieces of candy Ellee got she held onto the whole time.  And she even carried her candy basket around. I'm so excited for next year!  Here are a few photos from our trick or treating adventure:

pumpkin patches.

If you remember last year Ellee and I attended a Mom's/Playgroup called Sprouts. Well this year's first outing with Sprouts (10/15/10) was to a local private farm called Silverbow.  Ellee was so much more fun to take this year!  She loved looking at all the animals.  We saw pigs, horses, mules and chickens.  She even got to pet a chicken!  It was so much fun to see her interact with the animals.
After playing with the animals we went over to the pumpkin patch and Ellee picked out her very own pumpkin!  She had so much fun!

Our pumpkin patch adventures continue!  That same weekend we made a trip down to Vancouver to see some friends.  We went to a local pumpkin patch down there and we had fun on the hay ride, playing in the hay and picking out a pumpkin!  Ellee had so much fun running around!

Go round and round!!!  Ellee loves to watch Baby Genius OnDemand.  The Wheels on the Bus is one of her favorite songs.  I caught her going Round and Round for the first time!  She is so much fun and she catches onto things so quick!!!

I heart the Puyallup Fair! : )  This year was more fun than last because Ellee knew what was going on!  She loved looking at all the animals.  She also enjoyed her first taste of the famous EarthQuake Burgers and Curly Fries.  We went with my friend Julie and we had a blast! : )

I think it has become tradition for Ellee and me to get our photo taken next to the big draft horse. : )

play a latte.

A couple of weeks ago we had a play date with Lily at Play A Latte. Play A Latte is a fun, safe place to take your kids.  They have a TON of fun toys to play with and a bounce house for the older kiddos!  And, while the kiddos are playing Mom (or Dad) can sip on a yummy latte (my favorite part!) : )

It was much fun watching them run around!  Now that they can walk they are all over the place! : )
