Miss Ellee has a new cousin! Shayne's sister Raya had her baby early this morning. Nadya Rubby Chakos: Born July 30th, 2009 weighing 6lbs 8oz and 19 inches long. What a cutie!

365 days of Ellee - Week 2

Ellee is 2 weeks old! We had a good overall week. Ellee has been fussy though the last few nights but, I think the heat has something to do with that. It has been so hot!! Hopefully it will cool off a bit. Although they are saying it is supposed to be close to 100 tomorrow. Not looking forward to that! Poor baby!

I had a coupon for some free photos for the Picture People so Grandma Lane and I took Miss Ellee to get her 1st photos done. She is 9 days old in the photos and wasn't very happy with me for most of them. But, in my opinion she is still pretty darn cute!! Follow the link to check them out! :)

365 days of Ellee - Week 1

Wow! I can't believe a week has already gone by...well Tue. it was a week. We are adjusting very well and I think we have somewhat of a routine down...as much as of a routine that you can have with a newborn....

The first night home was not so fun....Ellee decided that she didn't want us to put her down. I was exhausted because I had been up for over 24 hours and Shayne was exhausted because he had been working on the house non-stop since it had closed trying to get it ready for us to move in. I think that we were all just so tired including Ellee. The next night was much better....I knew we had to do something different so before we went to bed I swaddled her and that helped a lot!! She let us put her down to sleep so we were able to get some much needed rest!

We were also having some feeding issues. Ellee just didn't seem interested in eating during the day. At her first wellness exam she had dropped her weight to 6lbs 10 oz..a little more than what they like to see. She would eat during the night regularly but, I was having to wake her up during the day because she sleeps so much and pretty much make her eat. She is doing much better now and by her 2nd wellness exam she was back up to 7lbs 5oz. I still have to wake her up most of the time during the day to eat but, she will want to eat on her own with out any coaxing. All in all it was a great week!

I decide I am going to do 365 days of Ellee...so everyday I will take a new photo of her and at the end of the week I will post the weeks photos. Here are her first weeks photos. :)

Ellee's birthday story.

I was lucky enough to have my water break! Well, sorta..it decided to break at 3:20 in the morning. I called my midwife and she said since I hadn't started contractions yet that I could wait a bit to go to the hospital. She told me to go back to bed and get some rest. Yeah right..there was now way I was sleeping! At about 7:30am we headed to the hospital stopping at my friend Julie's house to drop off the dogs. She took one last prego pic of Shayne and me.

By the time I got all checked in at 8:30am I had still not had any major contractions and was dilated only to 1cm. My midwife was slightly concerned because when your water breaks after the 18hr. mark they get concerned with infection. I wasn't anywhere near 18 hrs yet but, she still suggested I jump start contractions. She gave me this pill that comes to as close to natural as possible without using petocin. It wasn't supposed to kick in until after 4o min. but, not even 15 min later I had a major contraction that lasted a long time..my stomach was not releasing it. At the same time Ellee's heart rate dropped severely for about 8 minutes. Before I knew it there was nurses everywhere along with my midwife and they were paging a Dr. and shoving an IV in me and telling me to flip over along with lots of other stuff...talk about scary. They gave me a shot to release the contraction and Ellee's heart rate went back up to normal. At that point my midwife checked me again and I had jumped to being dilated to 3cm. And with in 2 hours I was up to 5cm. I was begging for an epidural at this point! The contractions were so close together I didn't even have a chance to catch my breath.


Let me just say I will never give birth without that epidural..it is wonderful!!! :) I couldn't feel any pain! After the epidural it was only about 4 short hours until I was dilated to 10cm and Ellee's heart rate was slightly low again. My midwife said it was time to start pushing. 1 short hour later and Miss Ellee was in my arms!

I cannot even express the emotions that ran through me! It was love at first sight! And she had already gotten her Daddy wrapped around her little finger!

Sorry this has taken me so long to post. It has been a very busy week! I can't believe Miss Ellee is already a week old!!

I will post more pictures and details soon! It has been a crazy couple of days already. Shayne has been working hard to get the house ready so we can move in. My Mom has let us stay with her in the mean time. I know she loves having Miss Ellee close by! :) And she has been a big help with her! We get to start moving in today!! Love you all!!

39 weeks & 2 days

We went to a family reunion on Saturday for Shayne's side of the family. It was at a nice park in Olympia. Here are some pictures! Sarah tagged along with us. :)

Keys!!!

The house is finally ours!! We are so excited!! Today we got the keys to our new home (well new to us :) ) and we are finally homeowners!!

We have a lot to do in the next week before we can move in!
Shayne has already started pulling up the old carpet so it can be ready for the new hardwood floors & carpet to be installed next Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. We are also hoping to get the whole house painted this weekend and early next week before the floors go in. As much as I want to meet miss Ellee...I am kind of hoping she can wait just a bit longer so we can get moved in...it will be close though!! :)

Wow!! It almost feels unreal...We have our very own home!!!! (Can you tell I'm excited????!!!!)
